An update (unfortunately)

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/ ... /Business/

This SOB seems pretty confident of getting a 'license to fly'....but, what with the minority gov't situation, and the fury surrounding Jetsgo's shutdown from 17,000 stranded pax, perhaps, just perhaps Transport Canada might do the right thing (for the WRONG reasons, of course)!

After the colapse of Royal, he should have stopped. Even if they do get back up, no one will trust them.

With his record and reputation who the hell will fly on any airline run wholly or in part by him anyway? The guy should try another line of work :-(

I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for Air Canada to go down actually. You just keep waiting....and waiting....and waiting. Why did Canadian have to lose that merger? Anyways, I thought that Royal; the airline that this guy owned before Jetsgo was okay. Too bad he messed up so much with Jetsgo. What he did was wrong. Just wrong

Good. LeBlanc is an idiot. Jetsgo was a crappy idea, founded on an unworkable business plan and did nothing except hurt passengers, employees and the Canadian airline industry. I can't believe anybody is actually considering letting him do it all again. As far as I'm concerned, his actions have been fraudulant, bordering on criminal.

With the amount of money owed to creditors, and the fact that most of the assets of the company are either leased or rented, it would be nothing short of a miracle if this guy ever found anyone stupid enough to lease him anything, never mind an aircraft.

From bits44's link above......

WTH is this?:
"Court-appointed monitor RSM Richter Inc. also noted recently that Jetsgo has "leased engines, several of which are located in Israel at Israeli Aircraft Industries. ...Jetsgo is assessing which of those engines in Israel "should be returned......"

Specifically, WTH are these engines doing in Israel?????????? Last time I checked, Jetsgo was a domestic Canadian carrier!

Could this be a little like a Cayman Islands bank account....out of regulatory reach...?

Maybe someone can explain/hypothesize?

I don't know anything about that. Well, El AL wanted to pull out of YYZ, maybe Jets was checking it out?
