Flight is LH4578, FRA-BRU, B737-300: arr in BRU was 15h03 (scheduled arrival was 14h00).

LH says that 59 pax indeed don't want to get off the plane, but that all other pax have disembarked normally.

Return flight LH4579, ETD 15h00 and delayed to 16h45 now is cancelled.

VRT-radio says that it looks like they're going to ask political asylum in Belgium.

Action is still going on, just saw the VRT-news. Iranian passengers (or with Iranian origine) are protesting against the Iranian regime. They can leave the plane when they like and will not be prosecuted as they didn't hijack the plane and don't cause a threath to anyone.

This reminds me of a story years ago in the Sabena-era where about 20 Afrikans refused to leave the aircraft in Paris CDG because their rotten fish was offloaded in Brussels. Finally they decided to leave the aircraft ;-)

I hadn't realized the service on Lufthansa had improved so much, people wouldn't want to get out?

While Fons thinks about a possible hijacking of the Lufthansa aircraft in this topic which technically speaking isn't one; HLN talks about a sit-in.

Lufthansa presses charges against the people who organised the sit-in because LH suffered economical damage (flight cancelled, crew on nightstop, pax rerouted,...)

That's why ejection seats should be quite useful in commercial airplanes...

It reminds me recent ads for BA, when a steward comes to some passengers visibly enjoying their seat "We already landed in London two hours ago, Sir!"
