Air Deccan has taken delivery of the 1st of 2 new Airbus A320s leased from Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise.

Air Deccan currently operates 3 used Airbus A320's which are also on lease from SALE.

Air Deccan is planning to set up Airbus A320 and ATR simulators for training of its pilots and hangars in Bangalore and Chennai for carrying out maintenance work.

An investment of around $25-30 million towards the A320 and ATR simulator and other infrastructural facilities including a hangar in Bangalore and Chennai is on the anvil.

But IPO is due soon cos that get the money

Air Deccan is the first LCC in Indian Skies.

Air Deccan on Sunday, March 27, 2005 had inaugurated its Mumbai-Nashik low-budget flight, and the fare works out to Indian Rupees 999.

Deccan Aviation, which owns Air Deccan recently raised nearly $40 million via private equity funding. Air Deccan is also expected to go for initial public offering to mop up more funds for its expansion. The Air Deccan IPO is likely in 12-18 months.

Currently, Air Deccan operates about 106 flights every day, with 18 aircraft.

Air Deccan recently ordered 60 aircraft, which will land up over five years, including 30 Airbus A 320 and 30 ATR-72--500s.
