- Hi,
Why are there not more people talking about the Boeing 777 ?
OK it is an expensive plane, but it is one of the best airliners on the market (if not THE BEST).
In service since 1995(only), already more 450 have been delivered on a total order of more than 600.
KLM gets its 777's in October.
See you soon.

Boeing 777
Yeah Mr. 777, i know how U r feeling.
I loved to talk bout the 707, but this type is as rarely seen on a Belgian airfield as an 777. I believe that when actualy seeing (or flying by pilots) those planes can start more discussions bout it. I used to see the first 777 @ BRU back in 1995, it was a daily rotation of United Airlines. Lots of talk about it those days. Sadly very few carriers were seen afterwards in Belgium, lets say American Airlines & Egyptair to name a few.
I was born to late for the 707 highdays, but i suppose the kingdom of the 777 is just starting. Hopefully we see this type more often in Belgium, likely candidates are coming from the States, but you never know with the "unstable" Asian market.
777 looks great, but to, me the stretched version is "a bit" over the aesthetic limit.

My opinion on the 777? Here it is, Mr 777.
I flew the 777 once, on a domestic stretch of Thai between Bangkok and Phuket. In Economy (I was on holidays!). My impression? Inside it looked exactly like the 747 (in the main cabin): same 3-4-3 seating, same feeling of power (massive engines) and space (huge cabins), although in a fully booked plane you are cramped - even on a short flight.
Altogether I enjoyed the flight because it was a first for me, but I would not look after a renewal of the experience.

Oh! At that time, neither Chris nor myself were members of Luchtzak, and the dormant forum was a dull discussion between mainly inactive administratorsQ707 wrote:Yeah Chris, has been a while ago, but there was even a topic @ luchtzakAvro wrote:I've never seen an American Airlines B777 @ BRUCan you tell me when they came

Thanks for your reactions on the 777, I see most of them are positive.
By the way not only Heathrow but also Zurich, CDG and Gatwick (London has five airports) are full of 777's and soon amsterdam will follow.
Alitalia also has beautifull 777's.
Have you ever seen such HUGE ENGINES(especially the GE).

Q707, nice picture .....
however if you ask me (and who am I to comment), just not about a tailstrike ....... before lifting off.
I had the opportunity to fly once in a (BA) B777 in ,, C ,, class between LHR and DXB (those where the good old business trips when aviation was still going well) and I really enjoyed the flight (nice plane) and the service (as to my hombell opinion, BA is a nice airline) ! !
Kind regards, :jump2:

Nice picture SktStef. I would also say that it was nearly a tailstrike
Here's a picture of the first Boeing 777-200ER for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The fuselage sections are joined together to form an airplane body.
