Tried to book a flight with SNBA to Athens through their website. No offer anymore ... Is SNBA stopping codeshare agreement with Hellas Jet? (Was very good service ). Seems that Hellas is working more closely with OA now ...
Does anyone know more about this? Will SNBA fly to Athens themselves? 8) Or codeshare with Virgin (result 'merger')?
I have seen this to, and also thougt they would fly in codeshare with Virgin, but on the site of SNBA is nothing mentioned about it. Athens is no longer a destination
Hellas Jet being in serious financial trouble for months (parent company Cyprus Airways struggling too), I wouldn't be surprised to see them stop all operations soon.
athens is indeed no longer an sn codeshare destination.
this wasn't communicated to the press either.
nor was the suspension of the napels route until juli 2nd.

I have the same problem with SN flights to Tallinn (operated by Finnair through Helsinki). Apparently SN stopped their codeshare on the Helsinki - Tallinn flights. (see https://www.aviation24.be/postt9024.html)

This is usual, not only for SN BA, but most all airlines. Big noise for every new destination, increase of service, improvement of comfort, etc. But complete silence on reduction or cancellation of service.
Hellas Jet has added an additional Friday afternoon flight to BRU.
See the press release:http://www.hellas-jet.com/main/default. ... ItemID=348 Hellas Jet is pleased to now offer:
· 10 daily flights from Brussels to/from Athens (on Hellas Jet Aircraft) &
· 9 flights under Code Share Agreement with Olympic Airlines (on Olympic Airlines aircraft)

Ten daily flights???? I guess they meant weekly!
Yes, I think they want to say that they are operating 10 weekly flights to BRU with their own aircrafts and code-sharing with OA on their 9 weekly flights to BRU.
Hellas Jet was very good. I travelled with them 3 times last year. Twice in business and once in Economy. Good service (business seat configuration 2x2 on a A320, excellent food and personal audio-music). Also economy very good, with good food, ... And very 'cheap' prices ...
I've checked the codeshares of SNBA (timetable february-april) as you can download it from the web - most of them from summer season on
- Discontinue service Brussels-Athens (codeshare Hellas Jet)
- Discontinue service Brussels-Oviedo (codeshare Iberia)
- Discontinue service Brussels-Helsinki-Riga (codeshare Finnair)
- Discontinue service Brussels-Helsinki-Tallin (ibidem)
- Start service Brussels-Split (codeshare Croatia Airlines)
- Twice daily service Brussels-Bucharest (codeshare TAROM)
As said earlier: Athens is strange since no other solution through SNBA. Probably Hellas Jet gave up codeshare under pressure of OA? Strange because they announced on their website before the extension of the codeshare agreement through the offer of additional flights from BRU to several UK destinations ...
For the other 3 I am less surprised. For Riga and Tallin the conclusion might be: offer directly their own flights since the stop over in Helsinki is far too difficult/time consuming (In an interview it was mentioned SNBA would announce new European destinations - which could that be?)
