IST-BRU met SN Brussels Airlines (vraagje)

Graag zou ik even het volgende vragen:

ik vlieg maandag 21 februari (SN3268) van Istanbul naar Brussel met SN Brussels Airlines. Ik was zojuist op de site van SNBA en zag dat zij een Avro RJ85 Avroliner gaan inzetten. Klopt dit of is dit een vergissing? Ik dacht dat zij enkel A319's inzetten op deze route... Wiet weet meer?

Van de site van SNBA geplukt:

could be since some of the airbusses are in maintenance and the A319 does some African destinations....
They did it last year aswell on the AVRO RJ to Istanbul or even Casablanca

But does the RJ85 have a big enough range to go that far? Or will they have to make a fuel stop somewhere ?

normally the RJ can get there no problem, provided that they don't fly into huge headwinds (jetstreams) in that case it is not out of the question the RJ has to make a small feul stop or take less pax.

I hope for SN they didn't have a full flight from Istanbul, otherwise they will have to leave some passengers in Istanbul. But I'm sure they thought about this before deciding to fly with the Avro from Istanbul!

thats with still air or light winds, its not uncommen the RJ has to fly to a destination that would normally take e.g. 2h00 and because of big headwinds takes half an hour more, having usualy some reserve feul in the tanks for go around or divertion the feul might not be enough.
But knowing the proffesionality of SNBA and their flightcrew you shouldn't worry making unplanned feulstops on your journey.

De heenvlucht gebeurt allesinds met een A319.

ARJ's to IST and CMN are not that rare, it happened already several times in the past.

IST-BRU is 2171 km met een vliegduur van 3uren en 40minuten is dat een gemiddelde snelheid van 600kmh.

Non-stop / AR8 2h05min
BCN-BRU is 1083 km en de theoretische gemiddelde snellheid ligt op dit traject zelfs lager. Omdat er proportioneel minder vliegtijd is: taxi en opstijgen etc nemen ongerveer dezelfde tijd in beslag voor een korte of langere vlucht. Noteer evenwel dat een uurrooster de tijd is tussen twee blokken.
Vroeger werden blokken aan de wielen van de toestellen gelegd bij aankomst en weer weggenomen bij vertrek, de tijd daar tussen (in andere volgorde welisiwaar), is de bloktijd. U dient voor de werkelijke vliegtijd dan nog de taxitijd naar de vertrekplek, de aanloop en opstijgen etc bij aankomst af te trekken van die bloktijd.
Vandaar dat u toch wel sneller dan 600kmh zal vliegen, Minos.
Verwacht eventueel bij slecht weer toch vertraging en eventueel een technische tussenlanding. Het weer is in IST niet je dat, voor het moment.
