Because SN BA has an Airbus 330 stuck somewhere in Africa Italian Volare will fly tomorrow (4 march 2003) for SN Brussels Airlines from Brussels to Nairobi and back. The plane is planned to come from Milano Malpensa to Brussels (the 4th), fly to Nairobi and back the 5th of march somewhere around 15.40. Spotters beware
Today, 4 Mar at 08:30, the flight SN 475 to Nairobi via Kigali and Entebbe (dep. 10:45) is still mentioned as a A330-300 in the BIAC website.
I work too far away from the airport to check wether it will be a Birdy A330-300 or a B767-200. Anxiously waiting for a picture from a spotter on this site
Apparently Birdy is having a lot of problems with their A330's in Africa.
In about two months:
x engine broken (JMC A332 as replacement)
x A330 skids of the runway (no replacement, 24h delay)
x and now again problems with a Volare B767 as replacement
Can anybody tell which aircraft got stuck, where and when? If it's OO-FSN, that got stuck somewhere in Entebbe or Nairobi on the 28th of february, I saw the aircraft depart...
I heard one will be in for D-check in september, another one in november and another one in 2004. A D-check will take 6 weeks!! How will they solve it ? I don't know yet!
