Americans use of situation to sell helicopters to SLAF.

Post by SN30952 »

Sri Lanka has asked the USA to speed shipment of parts required to return one C-130K to flight.
SLAF's two C-130Ks have been grounded for the last two months.
United States is likely to provide a third C-130 free of charge along with spares and two new engines as quickly as possible.

The Americans want to sell Bell 412s and Mil Mi-17s to the SLAF. (Sri Lanka Air Force)

The US doesn't even make MIL Mi-17s, bright one. Those are Russian made. Please get your facts straight and provide factual links before you criticize the U.S. otherwise it becomes just slander from a moron.

Much obliged for your kind and polite reply, 20seven.
You just arrived here, and contributed nothing but this?
Can we expect better?

It says they want to SELL...
I was wondering where they got these russian made ones from. Where did they trade them in, or so? Weaponry deals are always delicate, but these russian made helicopters were a surprise to me, seen who were the sellers and buyers. Who are these Americans?

Note 20seven this was our last conversation, unless you come with facts.

It doesn't matter whether I've posted 2 or 2 million posts on here to call you out. With 2000+ posts I wonder how long you've been spreading lies on the WWW?

What are you talking about? I called you bluff, ran a keyword search off of that human rights activist novel you have linked and not a single mention of Mi-17s or Bell 412s or even the SLAF! How about something from a credible source like Routers, AP, BBC or CNN? Did you think you could just throw out some incredibly long document and expect people just to believe you because they'll see it's so long and you have over 2000 posts?

You asked if "we" can expect better. That question really is directed at you presenting false statements. I am actually a very cordial internet user but when someone bad mouths the U.S. sans facts it gets me ticked off.

As for our last conversation, if you don't care to reply that's you problem but I will continue to reply to any unsubstantiated posts you or anyone presents. And as for facts YOU are the one who needs to provide REAL facts... "The burden of proof is on the accuser." Ever heard of that before? Its a little hard for me to provide the absence of facts.

One or two owned by the military for adversary roles or research or a Mig owned by some rich stunt flyer doesn't constitute sales.

As far as the WMD thing just about everyone in the democratic party, and many in the UN & Europe (save those that were owed money by Saddam for arms sales FR, Germany, Russia) thought he had WMDs. I never said the US was angelic but was does tick me off is SOME Europeans' hypocrisy of criticising the US when there countries have plenty of issues of their own.

The difference being the rest of the worlds countries dont go around thinking they own the planet and forcing their way of life on others. I have no doubt these threads will be deleted or edited because unfortunately political opinions are not accepted on here. Although it is an Aviation forum so it is understood.

Why should they be deleted? Politics and the Defense and Aerospace industry go hand and hand. There has been no foul language or porn, etc. so why should there be any censorship, just because I am supplying an opinion that differs from yours? This is what a forum is for, some healthy discussions.

I dont think they should be deleted but that is the way this forum runs ... Politics and A vs B doesnt seem to be tolerated. Hence why i said it will be removed.

Don't forget Forum rule 20.
Feel free to use the quote-function but don't quote another member's entire text,
remove all the 'waste' so the most important in your message is quoted.
