I go on belrail.be because there is a Belgian train which I am trying to identify the type of but have never seen any photos on the site to get the type. I gave it the nickname "Hybrid" and I have never even seen a number on the front of one of these types of train. I know the type numbers of all the other ones we have been on, but not the Hybrid.sn26567 wrote:... but you are a big fan of belrail.be !Comet wrote:I have never visited a site called Navetteurs, as far as I recall

The Hybrid looks like a cross between a grey thing and a rubber thing. It has the same front as the grey thing, but instead of being a loco it has seats in the same unit as the cab, something like the rubber thing. They are used on IC routes.
Still on the topic of railways, this stupid upside down place could end up being totally isolated and cut off from the rest of England. The Scarborough to Hull line is threatened with closure, the bus "service" between Scarborough and Hull is a waste of space, and the whole of the north of England faces its railways being totally decimated. One stupid idea being bandied round is only running trains at peak times, and when you live in a town which has indescribably bad bus services, this is bad news indeed
Belgians - you have a rail network (and trains) to die for! Don't let it get into the same state as the Blair government has got our railways into.

The train type I mean has been operated on IC services between Antwerp and Oostende calling in Brugge, and on the route to the coast (Blankenberge or Oostende) through Brussels. I caught one in Antwerp once in 2001 and one in Brussels in 2004, both times to Brugge.
From the very front it looks like this one.
And from the side it is like this but without the rubber. It has seats in the same unit as the cab, unlike the Series 13 which is a loco. But from the front it is virtually identical to the Series 13.
I have not got any photos of one, and only a brief video I took in Antwerp on 8mm video (analogue) which I cannot upload until I get the right connections. I have not found any photos or info about this type on any of the Belgian railway sites - that is why I just refer to it as Hybrid because I have nothing else to go on.
Thanks for offering help.

I have found the Hybrid! The reason i was unable to find it before was that I was looking on pages about electric multiple units, which featured the rubber thing and the sh*tty thing, so I cannot think why the Hybrid was classed as a carriage! It has a driving cab, with seats in the same section, is electric and has carriages attached, so surely that makes it an EMU?
The Hybrid, aka I11!!
