Royal Air Force C-130 crashed

A RAF C-130 crased today (30 JAN 05) in Irak, 40km north of Bagdad at 14h25 UTC. Nothing confirmed yet but there is only few chance to find survivors.

If I have more info, I'll share it.

15 British and/or US soldiers got killed, reason of the crash unknown.

According to AFP, the C-130 has been shoot down by shoulder fired missiles. 10 crew members died in the wreckage.

Surprised more havent been shot down over the past years, Get out of Iraq maybe or dont go there in the first place.

There is a lot of speculation around the crash. Only the investigation will get near to the truth.

I knew 3 of the crew well.

My thoughts go out to all their families and friends. They will all be sadly missed.

It is now official that the C-130 have been shoot down, either by a shoulder fired guided missile or a "lucky" RPG shoot.
