We regret to inform you that the renovation of THE LOFT, our beloved lounge in Brussels Airport Terminal A, will take longer than anticipated. Despite having built sufficient buffer time into the original plan, unforeseen technical challenges have caused significant delays, requiring us to revise our timeline.
Our current objective is to welcome you back to a fully renovated LOFT in November. Until then, we are focused on ensuring your comfort by keeping the following temporary solutions available:
• The Pop-up LOFT
• The Sunrise Lounge
Well, well.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
Summer season just starting and first SN LH flight cancelled (SFJ)... It's a pity ... Same scenario as in 2025?
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
SN has very rarely been able to fly 10 long-haul flights at the same time even though it has 11! That's how it is. The problem is recurring and not new ! Russian roulette ! Today it's Monrovia but JFK or IAD are often the adjustment variable since UA flies in parallel...Bel33 wrote: 12 Jun 2026, 15:12 Summer season just starting and first SN LH flight cancelled (SFJ)... Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
You'd expect they'd at least think of having a flight to a US destination each day of the week since they operated more than 7/week...
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
Imo, scheduled like this due to the flight program reduction this summer at the whole LH group level.
I've noticed CPH, PRG, BCN are also reduced. Extra flights were announced for the summer season but they are not operated everyday.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
By the time of making up and announcing the Summer schedule, the impact of the Iran war was not known. Now the situation is different with reduced flights.
Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
There are indeed 10 long-haul flights today, including 2 to the US.

Would OO-SFR / D-AIKL and OO-SFS / D-AIKN arrive sooner than expected?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
That would be great taking into account;
- They might come towards the end of the year anyway, also because more B789 will be operational at LH;
- Current planes at SN might still need repainting and/or maintenance and/or need to get their new interior already
- LHG sees Africa operations as critical and need enough capacity, but also new destinations need to be considered
Cheers,
Danny

Lufthansa Group plans a major consolidation of its short- and medium-haul traffic (summary)
"The Lufthansa Group is facing a comprehensive reorganization of its European flight operations. As Group CEO Dieter Vranckx announced in an interview with Handelsblatt, the airline plans a significant streamlining of its intra-European feeder network, which is to be fully completed by 2028"
"The primary function of these (feeder) flights in the past was to transport passengers from rural areas to major hubs, where they would then fill the profitable long-haul aircraft bound for North America, Asia, or Africa. However, given the deteriorating margins in the European market, this cross-subsidization in its current form is no longer economically viable. Flights with insufficient load factors or low average revenues are therefore facing permanent cancellation, which will lead to a reduction in frequencies on numerous European routes"
"Despite the stringent cost-cutting measures, the Lufthansa Group faces a strategic dilemma: if feeder flights are cut too drastically, the lack of passengers could also negatively impact the long-haul network. The promise is that relevant centers will retain access to at least one of the group's six intercontinental hubs"
⚠ "The planned system structure by 2028 will bring noticeable changes for passengers. Travelers in rural areas will have to adjust to fewer direct connections, altered departure times, and a greater concentration of flights during peak hours. The choice of connecting airport could also shift; passengers from certain regions may be systematically routed via Brussels or Vienna instead of Frankfurt in the future, in order to better utilize capacity there and relieve the heavily congested German airports"

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
Nothing new, already announced and explained last year at the Capital Markets Day.
Without P2P at fair yields, connectivity would ve bundled and consolidatee in operations towards lower CASM aircraft.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
What justifies the fact that flights to Kigali or Nairobi regularly depart on time, whereas flights to Douala or Kinshasa sometimes leave with delays of nearly two or three hours? Is there an objective reason? Thx...
