Interesting move—offering four classes on a relatively niche route is ambitious. Do they have enough premium demand on Abidjan–Brussels to justify First and Premium cabins, or is this mainly targeting connections beyond Brussels?

ASKY weighing Boeing 737 MAX and 787 for long-haul flights to Europe
West African carrier ASKY is assessing both the Boeing 737 MAX and 787 as part of plans to launch long-haul services to Europe, according to its Commercial Director in an interview with Aerospace Global News. The airline is targeting its first intercontinental routes as early as 2026–2027, with Paris among the destinations under consideration.
ASKY operates a Lomé-based hub-and-spoke network across West, Central, and East Africa, supported by a fleet of 15 Boeing 737 aircraft. While the 787-8 is viewed as a preferred option for initial long-haul services, the carrier is also evaluating the 737 MAX 8 and 10, citing range capability, airport performance at sea-level Lomé, aircraft availability, and financing constraints.
The airline is studying multiple European markets, including Paris, Brussels, Madrid, and Milan, with a focus on capacity discipline, connectivity, and cost control. Final aircraft selection remains under review, with discussions ongoing with lessors and shareholder Ethiopian Airlines.

When you see the competing cities, Brussels doesn't have a shadow of a chance.Miqvell wrote: 04 Feb 2026, 10:45 American held an event in Texas, where there was a stand titled "Vote on our next destination. Grab a jellybean from your favorite destination."

Let the people vote.
I hope it will not be manipulated like Eurovision contest.

It's just a publicity stunt; I don't believe they're actually deciding on a destination like that.JOVAN2 wrote: 05 Feb 2026, 10:08sn26567 wrote: 04 Feb 2026, 21:58When you see the competing cities, Brussels doesn't have a shadow of a chance.Miqvell wrote: 04 Feb 2026, 10:45 American held an event in Texas, where there was a stand titled "Vote on our next destination. Look at the other European destinations, it are tailor made thin routes to touristic destinations, like UA is adding a bunch as well. Brussels only works for UA (and SN) and is not a top touristic destination for Americans.
Any transatlantic expansion will come from UA, AC only through the A++ joint venture.

American has unveiled its first new destination, Porto, which isn't even listed in that list...

If only Miqvell has posted the source and the link, we could know quickly the context
. It took me 24 hours to find the source and the link.
It's comes from Andy Monks
https://x.com/AndythePandy_/status/2018820334447960565
Based on the date, it was on 3FEB26 and it seems it was at Arlington (based on this pix of name of a street by Andy Monks https://x.com/AndythePandy_/status/2018 ... 60/photo/1) which is located at 35km from Dallas and probably at the Globe Life Field (you can see a picture of a Trophy with the stadium behind, on the link posted above) .
A picture of the stadium https://www.hksinc.com/our-news/article ... ds-design/
He says there for the musical band Journey 26, so not Air Travel or Tourism show. We don't know since how many times this stand is here. Andy has taken a picture, but boxes are well filled. No date of possible launching of flight was announced.
You can see a picture of an Airbus A321XLR, but i doubt that flights to Vienna and Cape Town will be operated by an A321XLR
It's probably too much, but it's always better to have a maximum of infos to explain the context. To throw an info out there like that and discuss it without having the context, I think that's ridiculous. But since it fits what we want to hear (yes an US airline at my airport), we don't bother looking for more information.
Bordeaux has probably a chance ? It was rumored to be a JetBlue dest in 2026

But just like anything else, guess we will see whenever they might announce something.
BOD currently has no non stop flights to the USA. B6 would be the first.

SN transatlantic, like in more destinations?
Wouldn't it be wise to concentrate SN's fairly limited resources to other destinations? With A++ it doesn't matter on which metal a flight is done.

More detailed, it will be a daily flight from Philadelphia with the A321XLRMiqvell wrote: 05 Feb 2026, 19:24 American has unveiled its first new destination, Porto, which isn't even listed in that list...
