A US airplane has violated Iran's airspace, a UAE-based newspaper reported on Saturday.
Military sources in Tehran reported that the incident took place on Friday.
The flight of the F-16 was in the area of Khorramshahr city, located in Khuzestan province which is bordering on Iraq in the west.
The Iranian sources say they beleived the plane was on a spy mission.
American President George W. Bush has recently refused to rule out military options against Iran over its alleged nuclear development plans.
