We try to avoid politics in our forums, but I could not let this unchecked:
Trump wastes no time placing blame on Democrats for midair collision
President Donald Trump on Thursday, without evidence, sought to blame the policies of previous Democratic administrations for Wednesday’s deadly midair collision over the Potomac River.
“We must have only the highest standards for those who work in our aviation system,” Trump said. “I changed the Obama standards from very mediocre at best to extraordinary.”
As soon as he was in office, Trump fired 400 Federal Aviation Administration senior officials, the head of the Transportation Security Administration, and 3,000 air traffic controllers and he disbanded the Aviation Security Advisory Committee. Extraordinary?

The DR Congo's BPEA / Air Accident Office reports:An-2 crash near Kisangani, DRCongo
On 16 August 2025, an Air Kasai Antonov An-2 aircraft (registration 9S-GZP) crashed about 34 km from Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo, killing all seven people on board.
The plane had departed Lubutu Airport for Kisangani to complete a technical inspection flight required for operational authorisation under CAA regulations. The aircraft lost radio contact with air traffic control during its approach before the fatal crash.

Additional info BPEA: the crash happened at 34 kms from Kisangani. And the aircraft was sold by Air Kasai before the crash.
