That would be nice but we don't have the triple bridge working. That's one of the main conditions.

A third daily flight, morning flight, would be a bit overkill unless a smaller aircraft would be used. But if that would be the case, EK would have done it already.
Not sure that is necessary. I was travelling back through Vienna on Friday (coming from Chisinau) and I saw an A380 from Emirates with only one bridge at the gate. So it is clearly not a must, it depends just on demand ...

D
If Emirates is expecting a triple bridge, I think that would be a new (to me) requirement, and they currently send their A380s to airports that do not meet that criteria. In the past, they have certainly insisted on a double-bridge though.

They may not have been able to use one when you visited VIE, but the airport has 4 (if memory serves me well) gates with double-bridge. Could be none of them was available for one reason or another. Does BRU have a double-bridge gate even?
BRU has indeed double bridges. As a matter of fact, all bridges at the B pier are/will be renewed by the end of 2025.

Not clear on when but :

The EU has concerns about the takeover of ITA by Lufthansa. One is that the airline's dominant position at Linate would be strengthened. Frankfurt has made concessions on this issue. One consequence could be that EasyJet opens a base. Lufthansa and ITA are proposing to sacrifice 22 slots per day. That would correspond to the number of flights the group holds. ITA holds 176 slots. One route that could go to EasyJet is clear : Linate - Brussels. Brussels Airlines would have to give up the route and hand over 6 slots per day to EasyJet. The remaining would be redistributed.

Yes, we know and I have mentioned it. But what I mentioned too is that the triple bridge is not working. For handling the A380, one of the air bridges is too short. Manufacturer error

They are still using it except the one who is too short. But this has no influence on the normal operations with the aircraft types who are flying currently on BRU.

I hope that, if ever Emirates or any other airline introduces regular A380 flights to Brussels, the triple bridge will be repaired and the invoice sent to the faulty manufacturer.

That procedure is ongoing, but it's obvious that it cannot be disclosed here 😉

Not a new route but it seems like SN will continue Brussels-Athens in the winter season 4x every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday

Source is in Greek but I’ve translated it above and generally it’s quite reliable.

Not yet visible on SN website. Maybe it will come.

Quite a big news, after so many years.

From 2nd September, LOT will fly 4x a day, taking advantage of the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union.

Nice to see. It also can be that they jump in the gap which SN left. SN started not long time ago WAW and reduced it already to only one flight a day, BTW they kept the not attractive flight hours. The attractive very early departure from WAW and the late arrival in the evening there are withdrawal

But I think, I can be wrong of course, that it has more to do with the fact that Poland will take the presidency of the European Council in the first half of 2025.

But even today I can tell you that a lot of diplomatic traffic is on the LOT planes to BRU.
