A Lahore (LHE) to Toronto (YYZ) passenger plane had to make an emergency landing at Bodø Airport (BOO) in Norway on Sunday evening due to a medical situation on board.

The Boeing 777-200LR (AP-BGY) operating flight PK797 diverted its route near Svalbard and landed safely in Bodø. A patient and her companion were taken to the hospital by medical personnel.

Bodø is a common emergency landing spot for transatlantic flights due to its suitable runway length. The pilot has the final decision on whether to land at Bodø in case of emergencies. The plane did take off again after the medical situation was addressed.

And rightly so: Iran has launched a drone attack against Israel. And thus, Israel is also closing its airspace.

A malfunction at air traffic control in The Netherlands was the cause of the diversions, flights also diverted to Brussels Airport:

British newspaper "The Daily Express" reports the incident as follows:

A flight from New York to Warsaw carrying Polish government officials was forced to make a landing in Iceland due to a passenger suffering health problems.

The LOT Polish Airlines flight made the unscheduled landing in Keflavik. An LOT spokesperson emphasised that it was not an emergency landing.

Part of the delegation of Polish president Andrzej Duda was on board after visiting the US and Canada.

It has not yet been revealed which members of the Polish delegation were on board, or which suffered the health emergency.
