Well, departures had an issue as well. Apparently winds caused some damage on the departure level and no (de)boarding could be done through the jet bridges. Pax had to wait for 2+ hours in planes and similarly departures (mostly through the lower level A34-35) took for ever since only a few buses were available.

Lounge “The Loft” also had to close around 7pm and I heard that it won’t reopen tomorrow due to extensive damage.

Operating a door on an aircraft is limited up until a certain windspeed. Once open it can withstand a higher speed but since the windspeed was higher than the speed limit on an open door there was no safe moment to open the doors for quite some time. Once the windspeed decreased, the big job of handling the backlog started.
Ad to this the damage caused to the terminal due to the roof giving way and the resulting security measures and you get 'a perfect storm'.

Very chaotic morning in BRU A terminal due to roof damage by storm Eunice. A lot of flights had to check in with busses. Not enough busses available or in service. We waited more than 1,5 hr to get a bus to our plane.

And now a go around for ET729. Strong wind shears in BRU?

With the active squall line moving east, normal approach and landings started to resume at BRU and shortly after at CRL, but these guys decided to move east into the active weather system again and give it a try at LGG....

... and then back on their way to somewhere in Germany

Edit: left the runway now.

Yesterday afternoon I was in Brussels and I noticed a Azul A330 descenting into BRU. Checked FR24 and saw that there are scheduled arrivals and departures to Campinas each of the following days. Exited as I was (finaly a direct link with the homeland for the Brazilian community in Belgium??), went to their website but no sign what so ever of this route, possibility to book etc...

Are this some kind of special/chartered flights? The plane was a passenger version, not cargo.

Hello,

this is a cargo flight ! For almost 1 year now Azul operated a connection between Brazil and Belgium with their 339/332. With the Covid some companies use their passenger planes as cargo planes, this is the case of Azul. Unfortunately no direct passenger connection yet

As mentioned they have a regular full cargo passenger flight for quite some time now. But they always came in under the cover off darkness until last month. Now they are using a more passenger friendly shedule. Who knows, maybe they are looking to start a regular passenger service in the (near) future?

The c17 had a problem with its gear not coming out, after a few checklists it just landed at BRU !
