Air Algérie restart now expected on 3 October, instead of March 2022.

Brussels Airlines routes to Warsaw, Kraków and Antalya, expected for March 2022 have been removed from the booking system.

Furthermore, Blue Air starts to CLJ and IAS have been adjusted by a few days difference.

Very strange regarding SN and the Polish cities. LOT has most of the time very full flights on the 3 daily ones

They have been running it for many decades. I'm only 20 but even 15 years ago, they had that frequency...

What I mean is that SN is not starting again those routes while LOT has still 3 daily flights. So, my question is still why. LOT is taking advantage of it as prices are already much higher to/from WAW

SN doesn't restart WAW probably because it's not so important for its network. Moreover competition from CRL is very hard (FR and W6).

SN had always good loads on the WAW flights. LOT is taking now the loads to feed their own flights especially to The States and Asia.
You need to have a foot there in Eastern Europe as they are taking more parts of the cake

Unlikely that somebody would fly to the US via WAW whilst LH has the JV Partner operating from BRU.

One important thing is the type of demand - if public sector workers are coming to Belgium, they would get centrally booked tickets for LOT.

And LH is anyhow dominating the transfer pax volumes in the medium cities.

Ethno traffic would rather book Ryanair and Wizz.

Don't forget in here that LOT is flying to a lot of US cities with their new B787-8 and - 9. They have a huge amount of them.
From BRU is rather very small amount of cities.

LOT is in negotiation now also with Airbus to renew their fleet. So, in a certain time they can also offer a nice product. They do it now also and still serving at least something in economy.

On a side note, they are also building a megalomaan huge new airport between Warsaw and Lodz. They want to become as big as LHR. Crazy in my opinion, but who am I. So they need the needed traffic for that.

In many ways you can see that Poland tries to attract everything to itself.

But OK, this is off topic, but still interesting why SN is not flying to that important city where a lot of Belgian construction companies are based and for many other reasons. Political???

This is just because you have to make choices with 38 planes iso 54 before Covid, in my opinion.

A 39th plane to restart WAW and another destination (as WAW didn't require a plane just for itself in SN timetable before) might cost more than it brings money.

At the end of the day it's all about economics and strategy.

If Warsaw would have been a Cash cow before, there would have been no reason not to operate it.

Strategically the question is if there is a threat within the group- the answer is no. There are enough hubs within LH were the group can make attractive offers.
