My 13-Year old son is into Contrail Spotting. He purchased a Sky-Watcher 6" and has our old Canon 80D connected. He is just having issues with grainy photos. I am not sure if it is just poor atmospheric conditions - this being Los Angeles Ca or his ISO setting is off. He sets his ISO to 100/400 Shutter speed.
He is using a 50 right angle finder scope connect to my old Nikon point and shoot for easy spotting (he 3D printed an adapter) and the Canon 80D with a good 2x Barlow lens. On top of the camera is 5.5" External Monitor for an easy focus. So I think his set up is fine (I call it his rig).
He just wants better quality photos - if possible.
Thanks!
Here are a recent photo and his rig set-up.
