Egyptair will launch its own low cost in 2022: Air Sphinx.

The fleet will be made up of 2 B737-800s at the start. 2 737-800 will follow thereafter. They will be ex-Egyptair planes.

The company will be based at Giza airport. But no info about destinations: Europe? Middle East ? Egypt ? North Africa ? East Africa ?

By the way, Egyptair will launch flights to Kinshasa for the next IATA summer season. If DR Congo joins the East African Community https://www.eac.int/press-releases/151- ... -community) . Egytpair will be one of the airlines to serve almost all the countries of the bloc:

Juba (South Sudan), Kigali (Rwanda), Entebbe (Uganda), Nairobi (Kenya) and Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania). Only Burundi is missing. In terms of "density" of airlines (excluding EAC) and routes (excluding EAC) it is one of the best served economic blocks in Africa.
