Air Nigeria, the proposed new national carrier, plans to begin operations in April 2022. The government will seek a strategic partner to hold a 49% stake in the new airline, which plans to begin with three wet-leased aircraft. The carrier plans to grow the fleet to 30 aircraft.
Airbus and Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides for the possibility of leasing or purchasing 22 aircraft. A new state airline, Ukrainian National Airlines, will be the recipient of the aircraft. UNA will be allocated US$18.6 million in 2021 and $93.3 million in 2022.
Norse Atlantic Airways will launch services in March 2022 from the UK to New York’s Stewart airport, plus others to Fort Lauderdale and Ontario. Both Gatwick and Stansted as potential bases for its UK operation.

AeroItalia is a reported new Italian airline that plans to launch in March 2022. The CEO is Francesco Gaetano Intrieri and the board of directors is said to include German Efromovich.

Bonza of Australia plans to operate up to eight B737 MAX jets in its first year of operations as part of an aircraft leasing deal with its parent, 777 Partners (US). The carrier hopes to start domestic flights with two to three planes from 2Q 2022.

Hans Airways of the UK to now launch in early 2022 as the carrier is being held up by a frequency cap on UK-India flights. The carrier plans to operate direct nonstop A330-300 flights out of Birmingham.

The Romanian civil aviation authority (Autoritatea Aeronautică Civilă Română - AACR) suspended the Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) of Rom Cargo Airlines (RCR) on December 14, 2021, just over a month after it was granted.

Air Moana of Tahiti, which was granted an air carrier license, plans to transport passengers and freight between Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia with three leased ATR72s delivering in 2023 and two ATR42-600 STOLs in 2025.
Air Slovenia is being promoted by politicians as a potential new national carrier to reboot tourism to the country. Elections in April 2022 will determine the fate of the startup.

Fly Lankan Asia (from Sri Lanka, as the name suggests) plans to begin its flight services before 2021-end, beginning with cargo operations. The delivery of the first aircraft is due soon, with more aircraft expected in 2022.
HelloFly (from Malta), which has partnered with NyxAir (from Estonia) as its operational carrier, plans to start commercial flights by 2021 end with a Saab 2000.
