I might correct the information above: the suspension of the BUD-ICN route is announced until 8 April 2020, Hungarian portal Airportal.hu reports.

Flexible rebooking options :
We introduce a complimentary procedure to change the date of travel for passengers holding LOT Polish Airlines tickets in orderto meet the expectations of our customers (starting from March 6th. 2020).

The procedure applies to tickets bought before March 31st, with flights scheduled to happen between March 6th and April 24th , 2020. You can now change your travel date for free to flights by December 31, 2020 (travel shouldbe completed by that period) provided that the same routing and booking class are preserved. If you choose the date of a trip which the originally selected booking class is not available on, you will need to pay the applicable difference resulting from thecurrently available fare.

Any ticket refunds can only be processed in accordance with the original fare ticket conditions applied.

Penalty fees resulting from the selected fare conditions are waived in the cases described above. A change of route is not possible.

Changes to bookings can be made directly via LOT Contact Center, or in a direct message on Facebook (Messenger).

LOT has suspended all flights to Italy in connection with the spread of coronavirus. The suspension is to be in force until March 12.

"Koniec", as SPLLG flew for the last time for LOT, after nearly 28 years of operations for the national carrier, ending with "LAST734" callsign on his way back from Kraków to Warsaw. I flew many times with them when I was really young, so a part of my aviation disappears. Sad.

Polish Aviation Group established a new company — LOT Polish Airlines SA — as part of “ordering its operational activities”. Polish Aviation Group denied the national carrier would collapse.

LOT new corporate (LOT Polish Airlines SA) :

New ICAO code - HZR, new callsign - Huzar, and it is still waiting for its AOC.

LOT told it is only to complement activities of PLL LOT (the one already established for a long time actually)
Huzar could be used as reference to Hungary, and the Polish flag carrier has a hub at Budapest...

LOT could become the national carrier of 4 countries, Poland, Hungary, Czechia and Slovakia...

Bratislava and Vienna are only 60kms away, so VIE is probably going to win this "war" if LOT arrives in BTS.

More or less the same as SAS, but there the government's are involved in it.
LOT, and Poland itself, tries to become the most important carrier and country in mid and East Europe.

With the exaggerated megalomaan Airport they want to construct, I'm curious how they will do this if x-number of long hauls have a base outside of Poland

We'll see if governments are ready to invest at least...
