Jet Airways owners have got an assurance from around 30 airports that if the airline restarts operations, 170 pairs of slots can be made available.

However, Jet Airways revival order issued by the NCLT stated the operating slots will be allotted to the airline in accordance to the existing norms, and not on the basis of historic rights.

Jet Airways is not ready to take to the skies yet. Jet Airways employees have rejected the Kalrock-Jalan consortium’s offer under the resolution plan and have challenged the plan in the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal.

One more roadblock for Jet Airways: its rescue plan is in jeopardy, as the Punjab National Bank urged a tribunal alleging irregularities in the plan, a move that risks delaying any return of the airline grounded two years ago.

Jet Airways' stored B777-300ER, MSN 35164, was purchased by IAG Aero Group (US) for teardown and part-out. The aircraft took off yesterday from The Netherlands to Victorville.

Jet Airways will have to go through the whole certification process to get back its AOP, after the DGCA did not approve the airline’s request for an exemption from the procedure.

This was only a test flight, according to the airline. Proving flights will be scheduled in accordance with the Indian aviation authorities. A video of the take-off and some tweets of the airline in this article: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/jet- ... ies-again/

Jet Airways is close to a US$5.5 billion deal with Airbus for A320neo and A220 aircraft. Boeing and Embraer are also in discussions and no final decision has been taken.

But maybe they should first relaunch flights before discussing new aircraft. And where will the money come from?

Jet Airways has asked the aviation regulator DGCA to direct SpiceJet to remove its livery from the carrier’s aircraft as it misleads the public about the identity of the operator and is also a safety hazard.

Jet Airways is in discussions with aircraft manufacturers and lessors to lease 6-8 planes, including some of those which were to be delivered to Russian carriers as it gets ready for the relaunch. The airline is also negotiating with airport operators to secure slots.

Jet Airways is yet to make a decision on its fleet plan but intends to ramp up operations fast and wants to fly international routes by 2024 which means the carrier will have at least 21 aircraft by then. Jet is close to signing an order with Airbus and will lease aircraft in the interim.
