9W are closer to bankruptcy than AZ. Probably imminent. However there is no discussion of 9W's financial turmoil on this site .. Surprising !

No discussion on 9W, indeed, but regular reports on the main page and sometimes in the Trivia 2019 forum.

And everyone can open a thread on any aviation topic! ;)

Reports from India state that its Heathrow slots have been returned to Etihad. (Most travellers are not aware that Jet Airways did not own all its Heathrow slots)

Air France - KLM statement

Amstelveen, 12 April 2019

Situation Jet Airways

Air France-KLM is aware of Jet Airways’ financial situation, resulting in its inability to operate its normal schedule.

Jet Airways has suspended flights between Paris CDG and Chennai until further notice as from April 11th. The airline has cancelled its flights to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol on April 11-12-13.

Air France - KLM’s teams are assisting the customers booked on Jet Airways with Air France or KLM codeshares in order to provide an alternative travel solution to reach their final destination.

The Group is in close contact with its partner Jet Airways and carefully monitors the situation. Air France and KLM are fully committed to minimizing the inconvenience for their customers.

How times can change...

I still remember seeing those six 9W-jets lined up at the B-pier, hearing rumours about 9W taking a stake in BRU and acquiring SN to do European flying for them from their shared BRU-hub and 9W looking to multiply its then 42 weekly departures from BRU, flights from every major Indian city and even a link with the US west coast...

This must be a case study in economics: knowing that the end is near but putting even more money into it.

The state of the matter is well documented in the economictimes copy in attachment. It's real late in the day to try putting up a rescue plan, the liabilities are huge but who knows ?

It reminds me of the end of Sabena, with pilots striking when the airline was sinking...

Due to the cessation of Jet Airways' international flights, KLM is now using B777-300ER aircraft on its flights to New Delhi, instead of B787-9. This provides 114 additional seats (408 vs 294).

The route is operated in codeshare with Jet Airways...

KLM was also code sharing on Jet Airways flights, so they probably have a lot of passengers with KLM tickets left stranded by 9W.
