Thanks for the news Tony.

It seems that Exel is booming for the moment.

I hope for them that they won't make any mistakes, because it could have huge consequences.

Curious to know what will happen with the Airbusses from Dutchbird.
Since Erik de Vlieger has said that they prefer the Boeings above the Airbusses.

This was said during the talks with LCC VBird.

:x reduce speed upto stalling speed and revert ..... so, wait and see.

It's my opinion not to make any guesses at the moment .... Wait for some clear news / comments.

Of course we go for the upmost for the both of them and the merger they (might) have in mind (or read -- take over --).

Yes, the Dutchbird brand will dissapear after the winter period, and HollandExel will be the charter brand in the Netherlands.

The fate of the A320 is still not certain, although I would assume they will be fased out and some extra B737 will be brought in, since 2 of the 734 were allready destined for HollandExel (the 2 others for CuracaoExel I believe for flights to MIA from Curacao (or some other exotic Exel Airline, not sure))
Having the 737 & the A320 in such a small fleet of HE will not last long... The A320 will have to go, I guess.

Hi sab319,

Both A320's from Dutchbird are ex Sabena planes.

* PH-BMC => delivered new to Sabena as OO-SNF on October 14, 1999
* PH-BMD => delivered new to Sabena as OO-SNG on January 12, 2001

PH-BMC was leased to V-Bird last winter season, PH-BMD is currently leased to Tunisair.

Regards, Robin Bamps.

Robin;

PH-BMD flies for Dutchbird now, the operations for Tunisair stopped in September.

Hello;

Normally the A320's will NOT be fased out. Still they are negotiating to keep the brand "Dutchbird". Maybe it will become Dutchbird Exel.

But that is uncertain for the moment.

Regards,
Then HollandExel will dissapear? I guess DutchbirdExel has the Exel-part they like, and more name-recognition then HollandExel, since they have just started up (but HE has the Air Holland legacy...)

They will stay with one type for the mediumhaul, I would suppose...
Since they said before they prefer Boeing, and there are 2 734's comming this winter for HollandExel, I don't see any future for the 320...

Thats your opinion Buzz!

Compare Dutchbird with Condor, also a very good brand! Thomas Cook had to change names too because of the passengers who were really well known with the name "Condor".
And I did not mention that Holland Exel will dissapear...but they are still discussing the new "productname".
There are also other companies who were for boeingfleet and still changed to airbus smoothly...MP for exemple.
Normally the A320's won't leave the fleet but as I know things can change quickly concerning aviation.

I agree with you Buzz. It would be more economical to operate a single medium haul fleet instead of 2 small ones.
Now if they will opt for Airbus or for Boeing is still not sure, but I would also guess they would go for the B734's.

Let's wait and see.

Althought a Letter of Intend was signed on October 7th, it was announced
yesterday that the ExelAviationGroup will now NOT take over Dutchbird. Reasons
have not been revealed. To be continued ...?

Seems an easy way to get rid of your competition if you ask me........ let them sign new contracts based on your 'knight in shining armour' act and then don't go thru with the promise and just wait your time.......

Sorry once again for our English and French and German and Swahili readers, but there's no translation available for this confirmation: DutchBird has not been taken over by EdV.
