Brussels Airport monthly traffic figures
(This topis seems to have disappeared some time ago, although the information is regularly given on the main page.)
Looking at the October figures, it looks like BRU will narrowly miss the 25 M pax number for the whole year.

Re: BRU airport monthly traffic figures in 2017
If you add November & December 2016 to the January-October 2017 figures, you end up at 24 661 788 passengers. Assuming little growth in November and December, BRU will reach 25 million passengers!
Always look on the bright side of life
Re: BRU airport monthly traffic figures in 2017
I do actually, and getting close to 25 M in 2017 will be quite a performance . However, I still believe they won't reach that mark.skumfiduse wrote: ↑10 Nov 2017, 19:53If you add November & December 2016 to the January-October 2017 figures, you end up at 24 661 788 passengers. Re: BRU airport monthly traffic figures in 2017
Yes indeed, I assume that November and December will be good Months:
- Continuous growth by SN (excluding the TC growth) including e.g. 10th long haul aircraft in the winter for the first time
- Second daily Dubai flight
- The Shanghai flights (3x/w)
- The extra flights to Kigali (3x/w)
- Iran flights (1x/w)
- Extra flights of Ethiopian and Thai Airways
- More flights from TUI
- ...
[Anyone an overview?]
Of course on the other hand less flights from EasyJet and Vueling (and Ryanair?)

In fact they would need 338.212 extra pax over the last two months or 169.106 per month. Since the growth was 175.060 in October, it will be tight, but it is not impossible.

Brussels Airport CEO Arnaud Feist is expecting 24,5m passengers for 2017, that would beat the 2015 record by 1 million!

But he also says he's not expecting new companies next year. Cathay would have canceled HGK ???luchtzak wrote: ↑09 Dec 2017, 20:33 Brussels Airport CEO Arnaud Feist is expecting 24,5m passengers for 2017, that would beat the 2015 record by 1 million!

Re: BRU airport monthly traffic figures in 2017
On Cathay Pacific website, CX338 and CX339 are bookable for instance on Sunday 25 march and Thursday 29 march 2018 outbound.
Also on BRU timetable, for instance CX338, Saturday 31march 2018.
And Air Belgium is still in the waiting list for 2018.
And some airlines can appear quickly on the map like Rwandair, Qemsh Air, and some european airlines did in 2017.

Where did you read that ? I re-read the article, I keyword-searched for Cathay, Hong and Kong but no mention in the article.nordikcam wrote: ↑10 Dec 2017, 02:42But he also says he's not expecting new companies next year. Indeed we do not need to worry about what is already announced.
CX is not an airline like AirValan; if they say we come they will come.
Latam (Lima, Bogota) or South African (Joburg) is another story.
And for Air Belgium, let us hope for the best.
Actually my forecast is that AB will fly to/from Liege.
Chinese coming for one week, shopping in the outlets nearby, visiting Cologne,..

Here , last words..."et même si de nouvelles compagnies ne sont pas attendues l’année prochaine à Zaventem, l’aéroport n’exclut pas l’arrivée de nouveaux transporteurs aériens en 2019-2020."

CX is not really a new customer for the airport. However they have been away for some years and last flight years at least were cargo flights.

Re: BRU airport monthly traffic figures in 2017
For me it seems he was talking about cargo airlines: "Un nouveau bâtiment logistique devrait voir le jour à Brucargo et même si de nouvelles compagnies ne sont pas attendues l’année prochaine à Zaventem, l’aéroport n’exclut pas l’arrivée de nouveaux transporteurs aériens en 2019-2020."
To me it would be strange that for a whole year no new airline(s) will come.

Let us blame the journalist for not having well understood ??theeuropean wrote: ↑10 Dec 2017, 12:32 For me it seems he was talking about cargo airlines: "Un nouveau bâtiment logistique devrait voir le jour à Brucargo et même si de nouvelles compagnies ne sont pas attendues l’année prochaine à Zaventem, l’aéroport n’exclut pas l’arrivée de nouveaux transporteurs aériens en 2019-2020."

Passenger traffic continues to grow at Brussels Airport in November 2017: https://www.aviation24.be/airports/bruss ... -november/
Re: BRU airport monthly traffic figures in 2017
SN's share in November was 38.4% (i.e. +3.5 percentage points on Nov 2016); YTD was 36.5% (i.e. + 1 percentage point on YTD 2016).luchtzak wrote: ↑13 Dec 2017, 12:36 Passenger traffic continues to grow at Brussels Airport in November 2017: https://www.aviation24.be/airports/bruss ... -november/

In 2017 Brussels Airport will welcome over 24 million passengers, and that’s a new record high.

Re: BRU airport monthly traffic figures in 2017
Nice !
In 2017, BRU welcomed a total number of 23.056.066 passengers from January until november included.
In december 2016 there where 1.684.147 passengers transported.
As a projection, if an average increase of 5% is estimated on december 2016, BRU could welcome the account of 1.768.354 passengers in december 2017.
The whole year 2017 could end with an account of more of less 24.834.410 passengers.
