Different sources, different info: topic is for August 2017, the other for a full year; one is for seats and ask, the other for pax; and for Eurostat, Turkey probably is not in Europe.

+30 years ago (ouch) at 05:45, a young man was queuing at one of the check-in desks where the flight departure time was announced at 06:30. A couple of steps forward and the departure was then 06:45, then 07:00, …

He finally got a plasticised boarding pass that he handed over 3 minutes later to the gate agent before walking to the Lockheed Electra that was flying him out of Rio’s Santos Dumont to Sao Paulo Congonhas at 07:15.

This (now not so) young guy was so impressed by this “Ponte Aerea” that he couldn’t help but check how they are doing today.

Well the business seems to still be going strong with … 52 flights a day (as checked for yesterday thanks to FR24) between SDU and CGH, so double that with the return flights.
They now all run A32S and 73’s so I’d guess that this must be carrying more passengers a day than any other routes.

In that case the Japanese domestic route between Tokyo and Osaka should be a close contender despite the competition from the Shinkansen.

According Flightstats on 25/08, if you count in GIG/GRU (I know, airport pair vs city pair, but still...)

Total 93 flights/day
