Air Berlin and Zeitfracht Group (Germany) reached a deal for the latter to take over the carrier’s freight subsidiary, Leisure Cargo.

On another topic, Air Berlin creditors’ committee decided to provide up to €10 million for the establishment of a transfer company for all employees from the insolvent airline.

Isn't Niki Lauda still the majority shareholder in Niki? AFAIK he has 50,2% of the shares while AB did have 49,8%?

Very nice gesture indeed. But what about the thousands of Air Berlin passengers who have bought a ticket that's becoming worthless within a few days? Still no refund for them?

Same applies for the indemnity as per EU 261/2004: those legal obligations are also disregarded by the liquidators.

I don't know. The Niki planes I have seen in the Balearic islands this month were all in Air Berlin colours. Only the regitration was Austrian.

Air Berlin is still in talks with Condor and easyJet over the sale of some of its remaining aircraft, with both parties interested in about 20 aircraft.

EasyJet is looking at setting up a large base at Berlin-Tegel in addition to its current base at Berlin-Schönefeld, while Condor would use the capacity to grow its share in the Germany-Europe leisure market.

Lufthansa began the European approval process for its takeover of large parts of Air Berlin. The Group is hoping for a so-called Phase I approval from the EU, so that the deal could close in January 2018 and start using Air Berlin capacity.

Never 330s don't have any problem with Europe to Rio.

Also, this flight is empty so it has a lot more range than a fully loaded 330.

Air Berlin is expected by the German government to repay in full the €150 million loan it received from state-owned development bank KfW IPEX-Bank.

With which money?
