Wich major Asian destination still missing in BRU, I see Singapore for Singapore Airlines, Seoul for Asiana, Delhi and Teheran for Brussels Airlines, what else?

Seoul: talks are ongoing with Asiana for the moment, but it will take time

South-America: A delegation of LATAM was already visiting BRU to check the facilities and much more. They would like to open a basis in Europe (Brussels is one of the candidates) and they will send three planes (possible daily) to this new base.

Vancouver: operated by Air Canada. But this is not for the near future.

Houston and the second NY flight operated by United. But they are very, very silent the last year.

SN could be the partner who is opening the second NY flight (evening flight), BOS flight and maybe SFO in a few years.

South Africa: SN has not the right plane for this and South African is in financial trouble. They will not open a new expensive new route. So this will still be a black spot.

Oman Air has indeed the intention to fly to BRU but somehow LH is holding this and LH tight the bound with Oman Air instead of allowing them to fly to BRU.

The new terminal is about to enter in service in September 2018, providing easier transfer and COPA, a Star Alliance member, maintains an impressive growth.
They offer a wide network with many destinations in central and south America :

In another way, BRU management and CX had 3 years of talks. It's not fortuitous.

What's the story with Oman Air, where are the talks with BRU, maybe will they come? Could LH prevent them to come, if they intend to do so? Code-sharing with them in FRA or MUC to make them give the priority to german hubs?

Oman Air has indeed the intention to fly to BRU but somehow LH is holding this and LH tight the bound with Oman Air instead of allowing them to fly to BRU.

And surely with the closure of Nairobi two years ago to switch off SN in favour of LH itself, which is a pity for SN. But LH also gave Accra away to let SN enter the ghanean market again.
And it seems LH has the will and knows the way to grow in Africa by for instance giving SN management full permission to become a more important player in Africa (less triangular flights, more direct connections). India is a sensitive market for LH and SN can spread its wings there beside LH.

So, to keep beeing objective, nor daydreaming, nor bashing. LH is strengthening SN for the future, even if some decisions are not in favour of SN. I may be wrong but it seems to me that SN has made a good deal becoming part of the LH/EW group. Future will tell.

Although in Germany, the AB take-over story by LH, attempting to almost entirely adquire it isn't a good sign for the consumers and competition.

Well, there is an agreement since last march between both parts : LH group and CX. All benefit for SN, BRU and the traveler.
CX doesn't find enough support in Europe from Oneworld partners to spread up.

Contrary to what was said by Ryanair at their press conference in Belgium last week, they do seem to cut back at BRU after all! Not only does the flight to Malta get moved to CRL as was already discovered, but also do they slash the number for weekly flights to Berlin next summer...

After vueling and easyjet, now also ryanair in retreat at BRU!?

PS: as this winter they axe Hamburg, it seems their assault on the business-oriented market between Brussels and Germany is failing.

It's indeed very remarkable that United is not expanding further at BRU. With the much more intercontinental traffic you could suppose that for them is also much more attractive, but they prefer to expand on other, non-*Alliance airports.

SN is the big winner in this and it shows that Ryanair is a not reliable airline for BRU. That BRU is too expensive for them is just blaming others.
So, let's hope that Vueling will come back with more flights to BRU again. Easyjet is an other story.
