OO-DJF Abnormal Landing 8-7-2004

Post by cka411 »

While spotting next to runway 2, I witnessed this landing! Anyone familiar with that area should see what is not normal with it.

WOW indeed, what a very very high APP :? Did he landed safe or made a go around?

Kind Regards,

Can it be that the pilot made this app, thinking about his stand at the A-pier. He made a longer app knowing his aircraft was not so heavy to stop in time, and his taxi-time will be shortened a lot?. Don't forget an Avro is a STOL aircraft, meaning Short Take Off and Landing.

Regards
Raymond

The pilot did not go around. I have seen many Avros go in and I assume most went to Pier A, they have alway landed in the norms. I don't think they would do this just to shorten taxi time, if that was the case, then we would be seeing more planes doing this, and we don't. Its great to be a part of this forum!

I would think if going to pier A the pilot would make a long landing run, applying no breaks.. untill the end

This, high approach, probably is the result of an visual approach..

I don't think the landing was done for convience, again as I said, if that were the case then there would be more Avros doing this. At BRU, all the terminals are relatively close to the runways, so I would think there wouldn't be a need to do something like that.

I'm now aware of this. I'm sorry for making other members outraged about this.

First of all welcome to this website cka411.

I would also think of a visual approach, but I'm not sure.

Or was it maybe a testflight or a checkride or something like that, where no pax were on board ???
