Boeing 747-429 in Sabena colours

Post by OO-SBZ »

In 1990, Sabena received the last-ever produced Boeing 747-300 (747-329 - 24837 LN:810 - maiden flight on 05/09/1990).
When Sabena decided to terminate Boeing 747 operations, she was converted to 747-329F and flew for Atlas Air as N24837. From 18/06/2002 she was part of Polar Air Cargo's fleet under the same reg. Since 05/2004 she has flown for Air Atlanta Icelandic as TF-ARY.

Imagine our defunct national carrier would have swapped the 743-order for a Boeing 747-429 and here is the result...

That's indeed a nice livery, BUT the engine sounds of the -300's are way better than those of the -400 ;)

Wow! That is really beautiful. I wonder how it would look in Sabena's last colors...

You can find a combo of the 744 in Sabena's finaly livery.
IMHO, it could have been nicer if the Sabena letters had been bigger and placed all over the front part.

Wow! This one is even better than the first! Too bad these never became a reality.

Btw: could a 747-400 (not the ER version) make a nonstop from Brussels to Phoenix? These would have looked so great in the Arizona sunshine...

It looks nice in the "new" livery but I think there is too much white and it would look better when the "Sabena" titles would be bigger. But looks good anyway.

It is indeed a really great combo.
As a reminder, I am not the 'author'/'artist'. I always find these beauties on http://www.cardatabase.net/modifiedairlinerphotos/

The 747-429's father is "R P Abraham"
