skeyes (ex-Belgocontrol) ATCO vacancies
I was wondering whether anyone on luchtzak has been in the running for the vacancy at Belgocontrol this year?
I took part in the final assessment phase yesterday.

Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancy 2015
I was registered for the first test, but I was in Switzerland for work and it was impossible to change the first test day.
I have an appointment July 16 at Skyguide in Zurich for the FEAST Test.
Good Luck Kriva.

It looks like the tests are very high level (like it should be for a job with high responsibilities).
What are the subjects of these first tests?

It was a standard FEAST test, you can read all about it here on Wiki : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FEAST_testsn26567 wrote:It looks like the tests are very high level (like it should be for a job with high responsibilities).

As train driver, I had already passed tests like this at SNCB when I got in, but I must say, it was really piece of cake in comparison with the FEAST

@mrx161: very interesting! Feel free to tell us more!
Re: Belgocontrol ATCO vacancy 2015
While I'd like to divulge more information about the tests, I'm afraid I can't.
The reason why is twofold:
First and foremost, applicants are not allowed to share any data concerning the process they go through and the tests they take. I imagine they take this restriction very serious at Belgocontrol (and higher up), since these tests are intended to prove the chances of someone succeeding as an ATCO. If the test methods are thrown out in the open, their purpose reduces to zero.
Secondly, I don't want to provide an unfair advantage. Both for my own "agenda", of course, but also because, once again, providing too much information will be disadvantageous to candidates that do make it, but shouldn't.
While some details about FEAST have leaked online, the details about the latter stages haven't, as far as I can tell. I think keeping it that way is necessary. You don't want to spend years in training, only to be faced with the problem that you can't function in the job at hand.
However, I personally do feel the selections process is fair. The part of the process I get to see as a candidate inspires confidence, I feel as if the tests are well designed, and fulfil their intended purpose: seek out the people who are right for the job, who have the right profile.
pigthebest: I sincerely hope you pass the tests in Zürich!
mrx161: That's too bad but don't forget, there's always a next time!

I'm looking forward to it!
Thanks a lot, everybody. I hadn't expected to get this far, but I did have a good feeling after (nearly) every stage in the selection process. I'm still on cloud nine...

Hi, Kriva
Greaaaat! That's awesome news, congrats man! And Good luck on the training! You lucky boy
I was already feeling stupid that I didn't at least give it a try during the selections this year ... don't know exactly why ... so who knows the next time they do the test I'd ought to give it a try even see if I'd pass anyway in the first place. You definatly did, so sure gives hope
Hope to hear you soon on the frequencies

Max 25 years when they close registrations. I would translate it to born in 1991 or later as indicated above.luchtzak wrote:Maximum age?

That looks like a serious discrimination!
