Airbus expects to deliver the first A330-900 to Delta Air Lines by the end of May 2019, as it works to stabilise the production of the Trent 7000-powered widebody during 2019.

I have a candid question regarding the A330-900 capability, maybe some knowledgeable member could help me with this question : Do you think the A339 (251t latest variant) can fly jnb-hkg non stop without a payload hit ?
I would answer probably no and if so, what would you think the payload hit look like (mild or hard) ? I would say mild, meaning max 10% hit by rule of the thumb.
Yet the winds are favorable (mostly tailwind) and the aircraft maximum range is reported at 7200 nm (jnb-hkg being at 5800 nm in theory) so maybe it should be feasable with max payload after all, but with a night departure, jnb being a high/hot airport (alt 1680m).
Thoughts and comments welcome, thank you :-)

HNA Group (Hainan Airlines) has restructured jet orders with Airbus in a compromise deal that includes an order for dozens of A330neos. Airbus recently announced an order for 40 A330neos, worth US$12 billion at list prices, but the buyer’s identity was kept under wraps.

Aer Lingus took delivery of one A330-300, MSN 1951, reg. EI-EIN. This is the very last A330-300 to be assembled.

Airbus new weight variant, the 251-tonne MTOW A330neo, makes its first flight.

Airbus is battling to shore up support for its A330neo. The response has included Airbus focusing on A330neo sales ahead of other models, pressing for Chinese sales in expectation of the country’s eventual economic recovery while also trying to tie orders to sales of its smaller A321XLR.
