Airbus lost a contest to sell its A330neo to American Airlines Group as talks have ended over possible substitute for 22 A350-900s. The carrier appears set to buy more B787-9s.

The losers will be the economy class passengers considered as sardines by Boeing.

Rolls-Royce confirmed that both the Trent 1000 and Trent 7000 engines are affected by durability problems, thus causing issues for not only the B787, but for the A330neo as well.

Rolls-Royce said its Trent 7000 engines which power the A330neo are not affected by the issues with the Trent 1000 engine, as previously reported by the media.

The very first NEO has been delivered to TAP today, so it's ready to enter into service.
I'm flying them next week to MIA. Ah man, could this really happen... ? :P

Not yet ready to enter into service. First it will undergo real life reliability tests:

They can test it with me on board... :D
Nah, it knew it was too good to be true. :(

Well, I keep my hopes on the A333 (retro-livery or Portugal stopover-livery) then...

Airbus will offer a modified version of its A330neo designed for shorter trips in an effort to undermine demand for a new middle-of-the-market plane that Boeing is expected to launch in 2019. The A330neo engines could be re-rated to a lower level of thrust, helping to reduce the fuel load and cut its MTOW.

Hi Fly will take delivery of the first of two leased A330-900neos by end of February 2019 as it finalises plans to order 10 of the aircraft direct from Airbus. The first A330neo is on lease from Air Lease (US), and will be placed in Malta. The second is due by July 2019, and will be placed in Portugal. Hi Fly is open to sale/leaseback of the 10 A330neos.

it must 20 A330neos worth US$3 billion. An Airbus A380 jumbo costs $350 million.
Not really, Airbus' official avarege list prices in 2018: 445.6mio USD for A380 and 296.4mio USD for A330-900. So 3 billion for 10 A339's based on list prices is correct.
