Mitsubishi Aircraft plans to slash 95% of staff as work to develop the SpaceJet grinds to a halt.

US lessor Aerolease Aviation has officially cancelled with Mitsubishi its SpaceJet order for 10 firm, 10 options signed in 2016. If development resumes, the lessor is open to re-contracting the order.

Not really about the SpaceJet, which might never be built commercially, but it's about its manufacturer: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is considering restarting production of the discontinued CRJ, beginning with CRJ550 configuration of the CRJ700 for Skywest.

Mitsubishi Aircraft has closed its last North American flight test base, at Moses Lake in late March 2022. One of the four SpaceJet aircraft, MSN 10003, was dismantled, while the other three are likely to return to Japan.
