China Southern: Xi'an - Sanya

Another bad experience in China, this time zith China Southern Airlines. It started rather well for our departure to Sanya. For some reason two of us (family, mother, father, children 3 and 6 years old) got tickets in business class. Funny thing about it, the children were in business class. We split up the family and I got to sit in business class with my daughter. Of course as usual in China, there was a delay of about 30 min. They always use the same excuses, air traffic congestion and bad weather. You barely see a plane in the sky but the airspace is congested? I don't think so, I learned this year never to trust a chinese.
The flight back from Sanya was troublesome. China Southern has a reputation to overbook their planes and we were the victims. Allthoug I arrived perfectly on time in Sanya my son didn't receive a ticket. After making a lot of fuss and noise (it helps to be a tall and heavy lao wai) we managed to get on the plane. My son of almost 4 years old had to sit on the parents lap.

Another chinese airline company to put on my 'to avoid' list. This list has up to now three members:

- Hainan Airlines: worst airline ever and not based on one bad experience
- China Eastern
- China Southern
