Un avion de la compagnie irlandaise à bas prix Ryanair, qui devait rallier mardi Valence à Charleroi, a été victime d'une fuite de carburant sur le tarmac et ses passagers ont dû être évacués. Après deux heures et demie d'attente, ils ont pu reprendre place à bord de l'appareil pour rejoindre leur destination, rapportent plusieurs médias. Le vol FR1919 devait quitter Valence mardi soir à 20h30 pour rejoindre l'aéroport de Bruxelles-Sud Charleroi. Des passagers ont constaté que du carburant s'écoulait de l'un des moteurs de l'appareil alors que celui-ci se trouvait encore sur la piste et s'apprêtait à décoller. Le personnel de bord a reçu l'ordre d'évacuer les passagers, qui ont été conduits dans une salle d'attente. La zone a été sécurisée par les autorités aéroportuaires étant donné que du carburant s'était répandu sur le tarmac. L'avion a été inspecté par un ingénieur et a finalement pu décoller vers 23h00. Selon Ryanair, une vanne défectueuse serait à l'origine de la fuite. La compagnie a qualifié l'incident de "problème technique mineur". Un porte-parole de l'association espagnole des pilotes a toutefois déclaré que le temps consenti par Ryanair pour les vérifications de sécurité avant le décollage était insuffisant. Il a averti que l'utilisation intensive des appareils de la compagnie pourrait conduire à un incident dangereux. (MUA)

Een vlucht van de Ierse lagekostenmaatschappij Ryanair van Valencia naar Charleroi heeft dinsdagavond af te rekenen gekregen met een brandstoflek op het tarmac. Na tweeënhalf uur wachten konden de passagiers toch nog naar België.

Het waren de passagiers zelf die zagen dat er brandstof liep uit een van de motoren van het toestel. Het vliegtuig was zich aan het opmaken om op te stijgen. Het boordpersoneel kreeg de opdracht om de passagiers te ontzetten en onder te brengen in de wachtzaal. Een ingenieur inspecteerde het vliegtuig dat rond 23 uur uiteindelijk toch nog kon opstijgen.

Volgens Ryanair was de oorzaak van het lek een kapotte klep. De lagekostenmaatschappij sprak over een "klein technisch probleem".

Een woordvoerder van de Spaanse pilotenvereniging liet optekenen dat Ryanair niet genoeg tijd uittrekt voor de veiligheidsnazichten voor het opstijgen. Hij waarschuwde dat het intensieve gebruik van de Ryanairtoestellen tot een gevaarlijk incident zou kunnen leiden.

I heard that the auto-shutoff in one wing tank that automaticly closes the valve of the tank when it is full did not function properly. As a result fuel went out the overflow vent onto the apron. Fuelling was stopped, pax disembarked normally so that they did not had to wait in a hot aircraft, engineers fixed it. Non event. Yes a small problem in my opinion. (and ryanairs) Certainly not newsworthy.

It is no newsworthy fact the passengers had to disembark. It is safety regulation to do so.
Jet fuel is a highly flammable substance. If for instance a tractor is parked in a fuel spill, you may not start it. Just to make sure you don't ignite the fuel.
