Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news

Boeing is offering Air India B737 MAX jets once slated for Chinese customers, as the planemaker tries to offload some of the roughly 140 aircraft it’s currently not allowed to deliver.

Boeing orders and deliveries data for September 2022 show BBAM ordered two B737 MAX, while unidentified customers ordered seven B737 MAX.

The FAA told Boeing that some key documents submitted as part of the agency’s ongoing certification review of the B737 MAX 7 are incomplete and others need a reassessment by the US planemaker.

US Senate’s defense bill does not contain an amendment to extend a December 2022 deadline for Boeing to win regulatory approval for the B737 MAX 7 and MAX 10.
Boeing won support from a Republican senator and United Airlines in its bid to convince the US Congress to extend the deadline to win certification of two new B737 MAX variants (7 & 10).

LOT Polish Airlines asked a US judge to declare it was a crime victim in the B737 MAX criminal case, a move that could make the airline eligible for significant compensation. LOT said it had at least US$250 million in damages related to the 14 MAX it owned and leased at the time of the grounding.

Yes indeed: we are so lucky in Europe that the word "lobby" has been removed from our dictionary.
It does no longer exist in (aviation) businesses, in European politics and regional politics (j'en ai marre des parvenus...)

The original press announcement from Reuters:
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., Dec 13 (Reuters) - Boeing (BA.N) Commercial Airplanes Chief Executive Stan Deal on Tuesday said the U.S. planemaker will continue to push Congress to pass legislation for the Boeing 737 MAX 7 and MAX 10 to win certification even if a key Dec. 27 deadline passes.

"We're still working obviously and hope something happens this year - got another shot early next," Deal said on the sidelines of an event at its 787 final assembly plant. "We're going to hope Congress does their part of this."

China Southern Airlines has scheduled two domestic B737 MAX flights for 13 January 2023, which if completed would be the first commercial services for the model by a Chinese airline since a March 2019 grounding.

Boeing is studying whether an innovative plane it’s developing with NASA could find a home in its lineup next decade as an eventual successor to the B737 MAX. The design could trim fuel consumption and emissions by around 30% over the B737 MAX and A320neo family.

Irish lessor AerCap Holdings has taken delivery of its 50th B737-800 BCF, as the aircraft conversion was completed at COOPESA in Costa Rica. The aircraft was redelivered to Brazilian airline GOL, which will operate the aircraft on behalf of a Latin-American e-commerce company.
