Tent at B Pier gone?

Post by Inquirer »

Just returned from a business trip to the UK and noticed that the well known tent at the B pier, used as a sort of bus terminal for remotely parked non-schengen flights, is gone?

Anybody who has more information? I understand they are probably regaining some gate space for widebodies that way, but what is going to replace the tent then? I've used it several times, especially during the morning rush, when all non-shengen non-widebodies are parked off gate.

Thank you.

the "tent" was temporary anyway. It has been removed and some contactgates will installed instead. The offices that flightcare use for their redcaps has been changed into a bus departure lounge (cfr a-pier). The (bus)arrivals are moved abeam bay204 (r5-r6 if recall well)

Thank you.

Any idea about how many gates they gain? Is it more than one?

Guess I'll be using the new bus departure lounges soon: I have a flight to BRS coming soon.

I think some bus gates are already operational.

If memory serves well at least to gates will be added (wide body a/c)

My idea, just 1 gate for wide/narrowbodies will be added. In fact the existing gate 228 is replaced/renewed and gate 216 which was partly on the place of the tent and parking place (aviapartner vehicles) will be reopened.
