Come on guys, this is not normal anymore. All those undercarriage problems.

Suggestion: get rid off the rectractable wheels and install fixed pontons to land on a lake.

If it is really too difficult for those guys to get the record straight, they should change the design.

I was wondering already why ATR was selling so well lately. Insiders must be aware that Bombardier is not capable to get the job done.

I bet that this posting is another round of the one against all the rest. Fasten seatbelts, dear members.

I was sarcastic as well, but reality is that we are just waiting for the real bang. And what will they say than? "Oh, we didn't know"
Seriously, if wheels start to drop off Bombardiers, what is next? The propellor 1 meter away from you?

I really don't understand this. Aviation should be a zero defect industry- certainly concerning critical components.
This airplane type had already so many incidents with its under carriage. Is the design wrong?

In theory yes, in practice you just can't. You could get something better though, but nobody will accept the price.

Then statistics get in the way and explain you that if the chances of losing lives are 0,0000000001% or lower you can keep on flying like that. The risk is accepted. The human brain is known to be particularly useless at making correct risk assessments, but obviously nobody cares. Actually scientific studies show that our brain won't give much credit to other people's misery until it happens to us (i.e., the finger needs to be burned before the lesson is really learned).

Concorde remained an experimental airplane all its service-life then it took one accident too much to ground it. But everybody knew the weaknesses all along. The risk was accepted. Same here. In this case it might as well "just" be an incorrect installation/wheel replacement issue, and not a design issue. Wait for the report.
