After 7 months Airbus and Boeing are in a neck to neck race with regard to new orders.
Between Januari and the end of July Airbus registered 286 orders, a number that was reduced to 245 when cancellations are taken into account. That is a lot more than during the same period of last year, when only 188 orders were registered.
Competitor Boeing received 319 prders, which became 255 after 64 cancellations. The American company is thus slightly ahead, but the value of the orders is not known.
Most aircraft are medium-haul, namely the A320 and the B737.
WXith regard to deliveries Airbus counted 298 units, including 10 A380s. Boeing delivered slightly less, 263 aircraft during the first 7 months of 2010.

Re: Boeing and Airbus neck to neck in 2010
I do not know if this is a part of your post, but this is in the (Dutch) news today:
SEATTLE - Boeing Co. has several cancellations received with a total of 28 aircraft. Proof of this, is the last order overview of the company. 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, ten 777s and three 737's are gone from the list. Boeing did not say which customers are responsible for the cancellations.
Opposite to the cancellations are two new orders. Boeing sold to two different clients a 737. One of the two is designed as a VIP aircraft.
The cancellation of the fifteen 787 and ten 777's is almost certainly attributable to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) from Dubai. DAE placed at the Dubai Air Show in 2007 an order with Boeing for one hundred aircraft, including fifteen Dreamliners and ten 777-300ER's. The planes were purchased for the leasing division of DAE.
