convair wrote: 25 Sep 2022, 17:47 Meanwhile SFJ (so-called spare A330) went to Amman on Monday 19th. This seems to be in line with daily reduction of lh flights; eg: IAD flights have been discontinued since that day; winter season starting already?
Unbelievable that a home carrier discontinued flights between the two major diplomatic cities in the world. OK, most of them are using UA but still there is always space for that extra flight
I agree with you, but there is a codeshare and a share of profits (or losses!) with UA on the route.

I asked SN a while ago and they said this winter there wouldn't be any new destinations.
Accoring to Bruzz and the Brussels Times, SN sees business travelers coming back.

There will be an internal communication about growth plan end October, internal communication for growth plan usually comes after public announcement so I guess we will have more info on that soon. But if we trust radio-galley it seems there are some interesting things coming.

Will they keep their EW livery? Brussels Airlines has some experience with that!

Would be nice for some MENA destinations and maybe frequency increases to Africa (if they get widebodies) or new destinations in North/South America, Africa or Asia

Instead of special painted airplanes, I would prefer to see some mature new long haul destinations. That money would be better spend then some paint

Nowadays you have to ask yourself if South America, Brazil, is still that good as 10 years ago.

I would more build further in Africa with new destinations and in North America with Boston and Houston.
LA rather not as it can be skipped very fast. The same like Miami with TUI. It's not working. Delsey Airlines also tried and it also failed

What about opening more routes to the middle east? Amman (ryanair stopped flights there) , Beirut (huge crisis but also huge diaspora) Riyadh (KSA is opening up for tourists, I don't know if there s any business potential).

Are they increasing flights to Tel Aviv now that El AL is dropping out?

Also, in North Africa, why not fly to Algiers?

Routes like Bordeaux, Athens and Naples should be offered all year round I think.

and invest in Nordic connections: Helsinki, Bergen, bring back Billund... These destinations have potential for feeder traffic to the Mediterranean. Question is if there's enough business travel potential :)

In general: just some more business travel connections, whereas Boston is long overdue. It would be a shame to let this go to jetBlue instead.

Like I wrote, Africa should be the main focus with new destinations. But new Mediterranean or others would be the same where a bunch of airlines already flying on it. Profit would be very low.

A much more nicer and attractive, and still niche market, are the CIS countries. This could attract a lot of transit and transfer pax. Some of those destinations are also very rich which also could attract a certain public.

An attempt to keep Russian influence alive after the collapse of the USSR

Nowadays, I think only less invasive states from Central Asia (especially Kazakhstan) are meant here, it's also one of the richer ones

Not really fleet renewal: OO-SFH went to Chateauroux today, presumably for paint.
