Yes , it takes a long time to un-train security staff.
Seriously, if our politicians would be shown the cost of these extra 3 years useless security checks, I think they would speed it up a bit.

I never understood why mineral water was banned as well... You can't imagine how frustrating it is...
Is there any liquid explosive that is even liquid ans smell less as water?

And btw, since then I never bought one of those expensive bottle of water in the shop...

Personally I wasn't against the rule as more people checked in their bags (well, not on Ryanair of course), liberating more space in the overhad bins. It also forced me to find decent solutions to reduce the shaving cream, the shower stuff etc. to below 100ml. This meant a saving of space and weigth for the trolley reducing the risk it gets refused my some over-concerned check-in agents (well, not on Easyjet of course).

And if you're prepared well, it doesn't take up more time at security controll: out goes the laptop, out goes the little plastic bag... peanuts. I admit Granny and Granddad on their way to Benidorm aren't always prepared and keep the line from moving.

I'm wondering if the new rule won't cost us more as they probably are going to check the liquids in one way or the other as the bad guys probably didn't promise to keep their secret cocktails at home.

BTW, if the luggage guys in Brussels would be a little bit faster or a bit better organised or better staffed or whatever and we wouldn't have to wait half an hour for our luggage (even after the looong walk of the A pier) I woun't use a carry-on at all!

did I not read some reports from you how fast you got from the airplane to outside the terminal ? But that was probably on occasions you had only hand luggage?

Regi, you have an awesome memory! You're probably referring to my (personal) 10 minute record from inside the plane at the end of the A pier to the train. BTW, We should still organise that race!!! But yes, most of the times I fly just wth carry-on luggage as most of the trips are just for 1 or 2 nights.
