Re: taking oranges thru security
Hi,
I don't think so but don't get them pressed/juiced before !!
In that case it's a fluid = forbidden!
Maybe you have to eat some to proove there's no semtex in it!
I had once to taste the baby-milk at Cuba to proove it was just milk !!
But if you can put them in your checked in luggage instead of your hand luggage
just in case!
Greetings,
CX-B

Re: taking oranges thru security
Taking food out of the UK can be a bit serious. I would not do it. Why not buy cheap oranges in Brussels???
Re: taking oranges thru security
Sevilla oranges between LHR and BRU ? Well that's original
As a crew member at UK security forget about mini nail scissors, corkscrew, any "liquid" food (yoghourt, mini jam pot...) so I dont' think oranges would be accepted, moreover as a pax. To tell you, even Captain's 5 ml Sofrasolone spray was taken by stupid security agent.

Because the luggage scanner will go berserk and recognize these oranges as mini nuclear devicesCoppelia wrote:Sevilla oranges between LHR and BRU ? Well that's original![]()

Anouncement:
"Could Mr. Michael Newport report to security please ?"
What follows is a 6 month detention under UK's anti terror laws, daily deep cavity searches and a lifelong disgust for oranges.

Re: taking oranges thru security
....well the oranges were no problem in terminal 1 at lhr
neither were the tea bags / coffee beans / chocolate chip cookies
I left my liquids in a normal plastic bag (not clear) and it made no difference
I bought some jam in Harrods (3 for 2) and I said I didn't need a bag.....but he said but they are liquids so he put them in a clear bag......then he put them in a Harrods bag to cover up the clear bag....WTF
