Hi all!
Yesterday I was looking at radar screens and noticed flights coming from the east were making turns (in what seemed to me a holding) above VOR FLORA (?), somewhere above Sint-Truiden. Is this a known holding for approach to BRU? And are there any others? I seem to remember there's also one around Gent for flights from the west.
Anyone more info on this?
Thanks

Hi Airtrotter,
This might be useful for you, EBBR STAR (standard approach routes). There is a holding point at FLORA.

This is from a virtual ATC website, but if you have registered on the Eurocontrol website you can get up-to-date charts.
Who's radar was you looking at, the real thing or ADS-B?
Hope this helps,
Alan.

Hello,
ATC uses FLO for holding for all the traffic coming from the southeast ,the East and the northeast.
Additionnally, in case of heavy traffic loads, GSY ( overhead Charleroi ) can also be used during non-military hours or with the approuval and airspace delegation of Belga Radar.
If you have any further question, feel free to ask ...

Re: holding patterns in belgian airspace
What are common altitudes/FL's for such holdings? How much vertical separation?
Re: holding patterns in belgian airspace
Lowest level depends on the holding navaid ( FLO - KERKY - BUN - ANT e.g. ): usually varies between FL80 and FL100. Vertical separation 1000 feet.
