Live air traffic above BE

Post by N77014 »

Just received this link from a friend : it shows live air traffic close to AMS.
As BE is closeby, some overflying traffic is shown too.
Apparently, it is accurate and correct : 5 miuntes ago, it showed a B773 from JAL heading south, so I quickly ran outside : it was there, high in the skies, in all its glory ;) Beautiful !

http://casper.frontier.nl/

Does anyone know if such a site exists with ALL traffic above and around BE ?

One more question, off topic : yesterday morning, SAT 13 NOV, I arrived around 6 AM in LHR and saw an SQ and QF A380 next to each other at the gate. I was not able to see which registration, anyone can help or tell me where I can find this ?

Thanks a lot in advance and have a pleasant weekend

Stef

Would be nice to have this on the website for traffic in Belgian airspace, but I saw a price of 2000€ per year and this for a few IP's not for a website like www.luchtzak.be

Look at the casper site. Top left. You can watch the present situation or you can go back in time: just choose yr date and hour and you see them fly by! Sometimes the regis are absent, sometimes they are there. So you may need some luck. Give it a try!

What a great site !
If your not careful you miss the aircraft reg underneath the picture.. you need to scroll down alittle !

I wonder if people would subscribe to a service covering Belgium airspace in full (so we can see a/c landing / departing from Belgian airports) on this site ?
Perhaps 2K spread over a many people wouldnt be too bad a service ?

It's only for high/middle altitude only ...
Impossible to see departure of LGG or CRL for example. I am a gold member, I have tried.

We would need an antenna higher than LGG altitude (201m) or CRL (187m) for that, so not in holland
A radar on the high hill surounding Liège would be the best of course (Sart tilman: 270m, with a possible free wifi link to the university).

I know a place at 160m altitude that could have a wifi link to my home at 70m altitude, but it would be an insecure place on a electricity pylon in the middle of some fields :/

If we do that, the best would be to share it with atcbox, they have several devices already, they know how to manage it and have the infrastructure.

For Heathrow movements try this link
http://www.lhr-lgw.co.uk/heathrow/lhrmainindex.htm

As to "radar" coverage of your airspace you could always purchase an SBS box or an Airnav box and have it set up on your own computer. That way you could customise it to your needs dependant upon your location. I have been using mine for almost 4 years and what a difference it has made, especially when going to other places around the world.

[[off-topic grumbling]]
Continental060,
You will much oblige me by taking more care of spelling. Neither "to sie" nor "to desend" are verbs in the Oxford dictionary - and we ARE requested to use English on these pages... };-)
TIA,
namesake.

It is indeed frustrating that so much is possible only a few 100 kms away, and so little in poor Belgium. Our beloved webmaster seems to be brooding on an initiative, and I am ready to offer some help on the aspects of IT, documentation, and coordination (things I do for a living, too). Anyone else for the to-be-setup task force?

Hello,

Maybe some of you already found it out but on Casper frontier you can also see the registrations. Ok most traffic at that site is for AMS but sometimes you can see traffic for BRU.

Greetings,
Kristof
