spotting at Schiphol
Went spotting to Schiphol yesterday. First time i went there since i started spotting last year. It was superb! All those heavies. I only did the terrace, but thats so damned big!!!! It has been 4 years since i last visited the terrace, but back then i wanst a spotter yet. Before goind home i also visited the Luchtvaart Hobby Shop (http://www.lhshop.nl). Man, i was AMAZED :wow: !! This shop rules big time!!! It was a really cool day, with superb weather.
I have 2 questions.
1. When u enter the terrace they are working on ur right hand. Anyone knows what they are doing? Will that part also become a part of the terrace so that u can go to those terminals also?
2. On the way back to the parking lot 1 i saw the Belgium Exell. What was he doing there?
thanks!
PS: to everyone who hasnt visited the terrace @ Schiphol yet: please do so, its superb, amazing, fantastic ......... !!!

Héhé, it seems you had a very nice day
Don't know the excactly reason, but I suppose they have not engough capacity for Holland Exell, so...

Well, sometimes is it 'Varadero via Amsterdam', that you see @ Biac.bekillerwhale65 wrote:2. On the way back to the parking lot 1 i saw the Belgium Exell. What was he doing there?

The Belgium exel plane landed in Brussels first when he came from Varadero. But for maintenance reason the plane had to go to Amsterdam Yesterday!
The reason that some flight are operating via amsterdam is that there are still problems with traffic rights!
Brussels still refuse direct flights for Belgium Exel from Brussels to Varedero and Cancun!

Did you made pictures killerwhale65??

I believe they're expanding terminal 1 there. A long time ago, you were able to walk there too, and you had a nice view of the D-pier (right side), the C-, the B-pier and the ''Kaagbaan''killerwhale65 wrote: 1. Matt, AMS is 'klein bier' in comparision with FRA, and certainly LHR!
Wait till you have seen those 2 airports...
The FRA terrace is also way better than the AMS terrace. In FRA, you are surrounded by A343's, A346's and B744's, which you can almost touch!

Been 2 hours on the terrace. May seem small to you, but its more then big enough for me!!Sabena_690 wrote:How long have you been there?
That's a very small log!
AMS has much more to offer...
Unfortunately you only see 50% of the movements from the terrace
