Hi
On 24, 25 and 27 march LH (A340) will operate the DKR-flight for SN as an SN-aircraft is in C-check longer than expected.
Nice to see a big Lufti in BRU

Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
Any idea if it will be a 343 or 346? Probably 343 but I ask it anyways...
Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
The flight crew will be Lufthansa anyway and I assume the rest of the crew will be SN or a mix of SN and LH...euroflyer wrote:Wow, I guess some pax will be, hm, well, surprisedDo you know if LH will provide French and Dutch speaking cabin crew or will the crew be from SN?
Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN

Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
Is this confirmed??
Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
yes, it is a wet lease. Don't know if it will be 'officially' announced though... Otherwise, make sure to be at the airport or even better on the plane one of those days

Hi
SN normally has 2 SN-crewmembers o/b of a wetlease aircraft (like the flights operated by EuroAtlantic); all the others are crew of the operating carrier.
Nice to fly in LH-C Class to DKR...

Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
NO surprise to me...
LH has been regularly helping out LX with additional long haul planes if and when their ZRH base is short of aircraft and/or crew too. With SN set to become their Belgian subsidiary, it makes sense to keep the money in the pockets of the group, rather than spend it on an external wetlease...
Proofs once more that SN will -in future- depend heavily on LH as well as on its group of service prividing companies for their daily operations, which isn't too good news for some BRU-based handling and technical companies....

You're touching a weak link... I hope that no Sabtech people read thiswhich isn't too good news for some BRU-based handling and technical companies....

Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
How much is Sabena Technics still doing for SN? Only the 333's if I'm correct...NCB wrote:You're touching a weak link... I hope that no Sabtech people read thiswhich isn't too good news for some BRU-based handling and technical companies....
Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
If I'm not wrong, Sabtech still do line/light maintenance for the SN B737/RJ fleet as well.
Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
For sure NOT for the AvroRJ fleet. That is completely done in house!

Sabtech only does maintenance Airbus 330. All the rest (Avro, Airbus A319 and boeing) is done by own technics departement

Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
Not correct. We do everything on A330 (Line & Light), on 737 we only do Light maintenance. Line maintenance for the 737 fleet is done by Brussels Airlines. Avro's and A319 are completely done by Brussels Airlines.ihd-fc wrote:Sabtech only does maintenance Airbus 330. All the rest (Avro, Airbus A319 and boeing) is done by own technics departement

Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
Line maintenance: the visits of technicians after and before each flight, to fix all sort of small problems which can be solved in between the flights, so on the line in fact... e.g.: tyre swap for instance.
Light maintenance: the periodic (weekly for instance) hangar visits to fix all sort of problems which could not be solved between flights but which haven't grounded the plane... an example: an APU swap for instance.
And then you have heavy maintenance... e.g.: the C checking.
---------------
It is correct that Brussels Airlines does everything up to D checks on the RJ fleet inhouse;
they've also insourced all maintenance on the A319 fleet (untill recently done by Sabena technics);
they're now in the process of insourcing maintenance on the 737 fleet, starting with line maintenance, but light maintenance will follow in the coming months...
and the long term plan is to insource maintenance on the A330 fleet as well...
In fact, Brussels Airlines has been insourcing all sort of services it previously contracted:
-) check in at BRU
-) gate supervising at BRU
-) crew bussing at BRU
-) maintenance of their fleet
The aim is said to be to increase the quality of the work and even more the punctuality of execution by having more hands-on control over the processes.
Over time, I wouldn't be surprised if Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa even set up their own handling company again at BRU.... If they get the business of all the Star alliance airlines, It could even be the biggest handler at the airport right from the start!

OO-SFW which is still in C check in DUS is now planned to return to BRU at the begining of next month: 1st or 2nd of April.

Re: LH-aircraft A340 will operate for SN
I have just learned a friend of mine will be on the SN flight FNA-BRU on 27 MAR, is it still to be operated by LH as reported?
