CRL airport parking - info needed

Post by Buzz »

Hello Luchtzakkers,

I am travelling from CRL to SNN this weekend, and was looking through the parking options at CRL. I came across a LowCost Parking that would cost me 30 euros iso. 45 euros, but it nowhere stated where it is situated.

Does anyone know where this LowCost Parking is located? How long would you need to get to the terminal?

Thanks for your help!

As far as I know, the low-cost car park at CRL is not yet open.
So they told me at the Brussels "Salon des vacances" three weeks ago.
I'll ask again next time I go to Gosselies (perhaps to-morrow), as I, too, would be willing to pay less - the daily parking fee is 15 euros, at present.

i'd concider the train if I were you.
It's a lot cheaper and the bus between the train station and the airport is quite ok. Fast, 2euro if I remember well.

Yes, but difficult to arrive in time if you take a 06.30 flight ...

Holland has nighttrains, but only three nights per week? Belgium doesn't have them at all; the main reason being lack of staff to operate them. Also we need the nightly hours for maintenance of tracks and rolling stock.

Anyway, the earliest train from Brussel to Charleroi arrives Charleroi-Sud at 6h23, way too late for a plane scheduled for a 6h30 departure. (source: www.aridisk.be)

Train is an option, since my flight leaves at 10.05, but 2 persons by train costs 44 euros, wich is not much less then the 45 euros parking charge...

I conclude from this that the low cost parking is not yet open?

Thanks for the replies guys!

with a rail pass, it's something like 7 euro one way, much cheaper.
But you need to use 10 trips.

then 2 euro one way for the bus.

The NMBS has special CRL tickets, wich include the busride to the airport. They cost 11 euros and are available in the airport and in any Belgian train station.

To anyone who might like to know:

The Low Cost parking at CRL is open, but I'd say it's more a marketing trick than a genuine alternative.
You just follow the signs inside the car park, it's the small parking lot on your left just before you enter the car park. There are not many places, and it was full when whe arrived and when we left.
