Alitalia puts aircrafts for sale
seems like there are some 767 A/C on the list
perhaps a chance for JAF ? SN is less likely imo since they have A330's

Re: Alitalia puts aircrafts for sale
Would it not be good idea for b.air to buy some EMB RJ145 ? I think b.air have quite a number of destinations where they seldom carry more than 50 pax and for which even the Avro RJ85 is too big. Would they have the money to buy small second hand aircraft ? With as a consequence, the RJ100 being replace at a later stage with aircraft of the EMB170-195 family.

Are you sure? It's a funny registration, subtle humor or a coincidence?Outsync wrote:Reg will be OO-JAP and comes from JAL.

Slightly offtopic, but with the Boeing delays, when is JAF expecting to receive their brand new Dreamliner? And will it replace one of the 767's or just be an expansion?
Re: Alitalia puts aircrafts for sale
The MD-82's are expected to pass through Malta today (see www.maltaspotting.com).
Did these already find a new customer?

The idea is to replace the 767's. There are different discussions going on, but having 2 B787's is not excluded.Conti764 wrote:Slightly offtopic, but with the Boeing delays, when is JAF expecting to receive their brand new Dreamliner? And will it replace one of the 767's or just be an expansion?
First delivery? Good question!

Re: Alitalia puts aircrafts for sale
these 5 (and 13 others to follow) are all purchased by Safair South Africa. The 18 they purchased are not part of this list, so that makes a total of 42 MD80's gone from the fleet after the next auction.

The curator is selling the aircraft in lots, the future buyer will have to buy all EMB145's, since they are all in one lot.Air Key West wrote:Would it not be good idea for b.air to buy some EMB RJ145 ? Also, SN is parking RJ's wich are payed for, why would they go out and buy other aircraft in the middle of a huge financial crisis?

If you read the note carefully and in full, you will see the curator will sell the aircraft, in principle, in lots, but he can also decide to sell only one aircraft of the lot. All options are open, which is wise, because if you don't find a buyer for the whole lot, it may be better to sell parts of the lot to different buyers.
I have not flown b.air a lot recently, but I can remember flying with them to a number of destinations at peak times and there were only 30-40 pax on board an Avro. So, it would seem to make sense to have a number of 50-seater planes in the fleet to replace leased Avro which could be returned to the lesser (if leasing contracts allow for it). And why buy aircraft in the middle of a huge financial crisis ? Because that's probably when you could get them at a very good price. Of course, you need the cash or a credit line to do that, and there may, indeed, be no credit line. But maybe LH has got it. Of course, LH may not want to make any such move until they are sure the EU Commission (probably) approves (next month ?) the take over of SN by LH.
